(It has been suggested that on the occasions when Aldrin had the camera,
he deliberately refrained from getting a good shot of Armstrong because he
was still annoyed about not being first out. While this isn't out of the
question, to me it seems quite plausible that he was simply busy and the
possibility never occurred to him.)

This is very likely the result of the mission planners still thinking in
terms of science and engineering and not public relations.

Yes and no. There were two different variants taken. One was the standard
black bodied camera and the other was an aluminum-coated body with the
pistol grip. One was meant to be used by a guy in a space suit, while the
other was not. They had different lenses on them too.

....Which begs the question as to how long one of the black-body 'Blads
could have endured the lunar environment had the aluminum one crapped
out. Were the lenses that significantly different that it couldn't
have been used for EVA, or were they removable and interchangeable?

Armstrong: "Ok, we'll swap lenses here...hey!"

Aldrin: "Dang. You're right, I see it...those no-good, dirty,
know-it-all..."

Duke: "Tranquility, Houston. Say again?"

Armstrong: "Charlie, please ask the photo guys in the back room which
idiot authorized screw mount for the EVA camera lens, and
bayonet-mount for the LM cabin camera. I think Buzz would like to have
a few choice words with them..."

Neil Armstrong took this picture of Edwin Aldrin, showing a reflection
in Aldrins visor of Armstrong and the Lunar Module. This is one of the
only photographs showing Armstrong, who carried the camera, on the
Moon. Aldrin later said, "My fault, perhaps, but we had never
simulated this in training."

The good news is that ZigZag sent me the strip of film I shot with the

What is the size of the image?

....And here I thought ZigZag made rolling papers, not film stock :-)

This is Zig Zag Productions in London. It's a standard 70mm 120 roll,
non-perforated. The mockup used the modern Biogon, a reseau plate, and
removed the entire viewfinder assembly. It's at the lab right now, so I
can't measure the image size.
