Hi

Is it possible to use a Starlight Express MX5 to guide?
If yes, using which software?

Yes.
The supplied software, AstroArt, or Maxim DL/CCD.
You need a method of controlling the scope. For the supplied software,
this really means the Star2000 unit. In older software versions, the
authors were required to test for the presence of this unit. Now this is
no longer required.
