I notice something in the images that I don't understand. Where the shadow
of the planet crosses the rings there is another shadow that has the arc
radius of the planet... is this a shadow from clouds?

In electronics when you do the equivalent of wavelet processing you get
what is known as ringing. Think that is what that is in this case.
Just an optical version of the same thing. Deconvolution creating
"Panda eyes" is another version of it -- the black ring around bright
stars. Mathematically I think they are similar. I ran into it trying
to design super sharp filters for a RTTY demodulator many years ago. A
sharp edge will will make a ghost "image" of the edge but displaced in
time.
