Important Perspective

Galaxies as swirling dense clouds of stars is totally inaccurate. Mostly, it's all nearly empty space. Close stars are like 2 baseballs, one in NY City and the other in Chicago. More typically, stars in the same region are like one in NY City and the other in Hawai. This is why in the upcoming merger ( not collision ) of Andromeda with the Milky Way, there will be very few if any actual star collisions. Lot's of gravitational interactions but no collision. I'm still worry.bert |
