If you can find one, a Sony Playstation One LCD screen makes for a very
nice, very portable screen to use at the observing site.

Composite input and battery operated.

The pricing that I have seen at places like ToysRUs for these
DISCONTINUED LCD screens is $12 to $20.

A great bargain for hacking...

Thanks for the link and your email, I ordered one from x10 today.
Someone else wrote and mentioned that TV broadcasts will cease in 11
months, I'm not sure how true or wise that is for my area (a
hurricane-prone zone) but at least it's not a huge investment - $25.39
including shipping.

Unfortunately, the broadcasts will never end. What is supposed to happen by
2006 is complete conversion to digital in the U.S. Your current analog/FM
TV will not be able to receive a signal without a digital converter. If you
have already purchased a digital-ready HD TV, you're okay.
