We're holidaying in Canada later this year (25th wedding aniversary

treat).
I may end up with excess baggage with
that much glass!

If you plan to buy a Canadian optical set in Canada there are some
things you need to know first:
It takes a long time to make a good optical set. I would recommend
ordering at least 3 months in advance.
Sales tax varies from province to province. It will add at least 7% to
the price.
Unless your vacation plan takes you to the city where your optician
live don't plan to pick up your optics in person. Have them shipped
to your hotel.

Ps. Where are you planning to see?

Ian,

Not as heavy as I thought.
We're flying into Vancouver, staying a few days then driving up to Jasper,
Banff etc and flying out of Calgary.
We've booked our flights, now doing the rest of the planning. Any
recommendations?
