Default ASTRO: NGC 3294

NGC 3294 is a nice galaxy in Leo Minor. It has a decent surface brightness,
so it is a viable target for city skies.
I imaged it in two nights (5th and 6th of March 2013), but most exposures in
the second night were ruined by clouds.

Taken from the middle of Berlin with a 10" Meade ACF at f/11.7 (focal length
2975mm) on a G11 mount, Atik 383 L+ camera, 16x10m L, 7x10m R, 6x10m G,
5x10m B, all binned 2x2.

You picked up a lot of faint fuzzies in the background as well. Sounds
like you are having lousy weather like we have here. One day out of 15
might be useable and that one has a 50-50 chance of being around full
moon. Very frustrating.

That's one that has been on my to-do list for years. Considering the
weather here it will stay there for a long time unfortunately. Snowed
again today. We still have 3 feet on the ground. Lake ice is .75
meters thick yet. Normally it is gone by now. Last year was warmer
than usual and the ice was gone March 26. We have a long way to go to
melt the ice. Fishing opener is only 16 days away. Going to take a
major change in the weather (-14C is a typical night temperature right
now) to melt it. Some is melting by day but refreezes each night.
Temperatures are running 15C below normal. They are supposed to warm up
to -5C below normal by Sunday then cool back down again. We can't seem
to get out of the freezer. I could survive the cold if it were clear
but constant clouds are very discouraging. Wife says I'm getting very
grumpy. Nothing some good skies next week wouldn't cure. Long range
forecast say "NOPE!" however.
