Apollo 13 ?
In popular televised accounts the A13 3 astronauts had a problem
with cold, due to power conservation, but they aren't shown wearing their space suits to keep warmer. Did they, if not why not? Ken |

I posed this question to Freddo Haise a while back. He told me that they didn't don the suits because they would have perspired heavily in the arm pits and crotch which would have frozen there. Thanks for the replies. Ken |

I seem to remember an ancient discussion of this when Henry Spencer said that Jim Lovell and Fred Haise wore their lunar boots, for which apparently the fear of accumulated sweat wasn't too bad. Would anyone be able to verify whether Henry was correct after all? -- http://nebusresearch.wordpress.com/ Joseph Nebus Current Entry: Reading the Comics, January 21, 2013 http://wp.me/p1RYhY-oy ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
