ASTRO: NGC 6072 (PN in Scorpio)

I probably should have resized this image down a bit, but as this nebula is
rather small I wanted to keep it in full size.

Taken from Kiripotib farm in Namibia with a 10� Meade ACF at 2045mm focal
length on a MK100 mount, SXPress Trius SX694 camera, 3x10 minutes each RGB.

That's a strange looking PN. Has the red edge typical of them but structure is odd. Makes me wonder if it isn't one of two or three stars and the other normal stars are messing with it in some way.

When I was in Australia Scorpio was at the zenith. Seemed very odd seeing it up here. Most of the sky didn't bother me but Scorpio at the zenith did for some reason. No imaging scope just had my portable 6" f/4 which works well hand held sitting in a chair. Saw lots of things I've never seen before. I had access to a 14" f/7 scope in New Zealand but the weather was cloudy every night but for a few hours one night. Very frustrating.

Arp and another put together an Atlas of southern peculiar galaxies. Can't think of its name at the moment. If I ever get down with an imaging system I'd love to grab some of those.
