It's when it's hanging under its landing parachute that you might notice

Uh, it's got to come down, ****wit. It's *NOT* particularly dark
during reentry.

A: During re-entry, it'll look like a shooting star. People see those
fairly commonly and hardly ever shoot at them.
B: It'll look like a shooting star dozens to hundreds of miles away
from the target. The Shuttle hardly glowed incandescently all the way
to the runway.
