Default Endurance Crater - curious flattening of martian rocks

descending into Endurance Crater, this picture almost is
reminiscent of the game Stadium Checkers, with some
geological distortion over time. except that the marbles
(the blueberries) are way too small for stadium checkers
relative to the block size. :-)

i have been looking at this picture for awhile along with
some of the others and i notice a strange weathering effect
on these rocks. maybe it isnt weathering. these rocks
are all lying flat, like a patio floor. the spaces are
filled up mostly. the rocks also seem to be fractured
in rectangular fashion. i am wondering if there are any
rocks on earth with similar appearance.

there were also similar appearances in the eagle nest crater.

around Cards, between El Capitan & Last Chance, also below El Capitan
somewhat.

going back to Endurance....

in this view i see the flattening following the shape of the crater
- not really a surprise, but again, there must be some force of nature
that makes them all lie down like shards from a broken plate.

just curious. surely this must appear on earth somewhere....

compare this flattening with the jumble of the terrain around the
viking landers....
