Default Photons from centre of sun

I keep seeing widely varying figures for how long it takes a typical
photon to make its way from the sun's core to the outside and for
example reach earth.
I have seen 1 million yeras, 100 thousand, a few thousand.
Anyone give authoritative estimate for this "random walking" phenomenon?

The reason for the disparity is that there are different models for the process
which predict different average times. As more observations are made, it is
hoped that some of these models will fall by the wayside while others continue
to persist. But the models differ from anything like initial conditions to
spacing in the iterations and can only be differentiated from each other with
better observations to compare to their predicted outputs.

Hi Carusus This comes under the uncertainty principle. Some photons
will come right through as gamma photons. Most photons on leaving the
fusion core will be absorbed emitted,bounced around and take 100,000
years to break through the sun's surface. They all leave the core as
gamma photon(for the most part) but we see them as white,for that means
they come to earth with mixed wave lengths (different energies) They
really did not slow down going through the sun,but did cover a much
greater distance. Bert

Obviously there will be considerable variety in the times if I think
about it.
