Default This is no taunt

It often happens that many announce the insight of Galileo where the satellites of Jupiter run their circuit around their parent planet as one of the great advancements in reasoning and interpretation but presently they also use the insight to diminish Christianity via the failings of the denominational Churches.

The 21st century version is even lovelier as Mercury is seen to move in front of the Sun and is not becoming brighter as it shows more of its illuminated face to us on a slower moving Earth.

"My dear Kepler, I wish that we might laugh at the remarkable stupidity of the common herd. What do you have to say about the principal philosophers of this academy who are filled with the stubbornness of an asp and do not want to look at either the planets, the moon or the telescope, even though I have freely and deliberately offered them the opportunity a thousand times? Truly, just as the asp stops its ears, so do these philosophers shut their eyes to the light of truth." Galileo

I do not believe that people are stupid individually or collectively, however, some have differing reasons for not accepting the full narrative where the direct/retrograde motions of the planets are not homogeneous but are split between the faster and slower moving planets seen from Earth. Observers on Mars will some day recognise that this is transferable as the Earth becomes a faster moving planet while the slower moving planets will show the same illusory loop traits.

Give the credit to the people who built the SOHO satellite if needs be for it is the modern version of the telescope that Galileo used in introducing a new tool to astronomy.
