"Sedna" is just the suggestion of the discoverers. To become official,
all names have to be assigned by the International Astronomical Union.

In that case Varuna, Quaoar & 2004DW are also planets. The estimated orbit
of Sedna is more like that of a comet than a planet whereas the orbits of
the other three are more like that of Pluto.

Which means it should follow the naming convention for planets.
