Nice find ... but that's not Vandenberg. Too much flat land, and not
enough green.

I do find the craft's appearance disturbing. It looks like 2 regular
launchers in a compromising position.

It looks just like a concept some co-workers came up with at Lockheed in
1962.

STAR Clipper is a Lockheed design from a few years later than that.
1962 would be surprisingly early.

STAR Clipper is a Lockheed design from a few years later than that.
1962 would be surprisingly early.


It originated in the Lockheed California Co. Spacecraft Organization,
which was my first job out of college. I distinctly recall some
coworkers with a crude model of it, made from paper towel center rolls.
