Default Indian "Vyomanauts" All Set To Rise Up In Space

"Reports indicate that the Indian media has
branded its astronauts as "vyomanauts", a
word derived from the Sanskrit language.

According to a report in New Scientist, the
tongue-twisting term comes from the Sanskrit
for sky or space - that is - 'vyoma'."

Doesn't the naut part come from greek? Is there no Sanskrit for
"voyager?" Seems to me if one is going to be national/culturalistic
no point in half-measures.

Latin; "sailor" in Latin is "nauta"... in Sanskrit it is "naavika", from
which comes "navigati" or our "navigation"

Is there no Sanskrit for
"voyager?"

"jalayaatrika"

"vyomajalayaatrika" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue though.
Now, according to this English-Sanskrit translation page:
http://www.spokensanskrit.de
"astronaut" should be "gaganayaatrika".
