That was nice of them to fix that; does it still have the bulges where the corrugated sections of the two halves of the stages join? That was the only real downside of the kit, as there was no easy way to fix it. I haven't seen one yet but I believe so. Everything from the S-IVB down is as it was before. -- Gordon Davie Edinburgh, Scotland "Slipped the surly bonds of Earth...to touch the face of God." |

Airfix Saturn V kit has apparenlty been reissued

Their Saturn V is in 1/400th scale, not 1/96th, and includes the launch tower; ...And is itself a reissue. I saw this one for sale back in 1996 online, and almost bought one until I saw how small it was. The website selling it had it listed at 1/200, in scale with the AMT kit, but a warning on rec.scale.models spared me the mistake. Speaking of Apollo model kits, here is some info on what could be the ultimate Lunar Module kit: http://www.customreplicas.com/lm.htm http://www.customreplicas.com/Accurate.htm Unfortunately, the person responsible for generating CG patterns for parts recently passed away stalling progress on the LM kit. However, Accurate Models has recently re-issued the incredibly detailed Saturn V F1 engine with further upgrades. T.B. |
