mentioning, especially since the temperature has been dropping for the

(mainly slow ice) that's going away. Annual snow pack and fast ice do

Without an objective cubic meter accounting of slow ice, there's no
such global cooling trend. However, as the atmosphere becomes more
saturated with water, it could warm enough to start snowing in those
dry deserts of central Antarctica, and that would be a good thing if
such mattered to some kind of biodiversity of that area.
