Default ANN: Release of LunarPhase Pro V1.70 (inc. Lunar 100)

V1.70 of LunarPhase Pro has just been released. Full details of the

LunarPhase Pro (for Windows) is a moon observer's toolkit designed to
make your observing sessions more productive. By using the integrated
observation planning tools and the general lunar data presented on
screen, you'll be able to easily plan for an observing session and be
productive while observing. LunarPhase Pro contains a wide range of
features, all integrated together into one low cost solution.

The software is written with the observer in mind and is very easy to
learn and use. Its simple, yet powerful features will provide you with
the information you require to make your observing sessions more fun!

New to this V1.70:

* Lunar 100 features - this list of features appeared in the April
2004 issue of Sky & Telescope
* Lunar 100 features are also listed on the Terminator features list.
They can be identified by the 3-digit prefixes in their names
* Sunrise/set times at the Lunar 100 features also calculated on the
"Lunar Features Sunrise/Sunset Times" screen.


MAIN FEATURES:
--------------
* Displays the current phase of the moon in real time
* Displays times and dates of the major lunar phases for the month
* Calculates and displays a wide range of lunar data
* 3D and 2D moon maps with configurable feature labels
* 3D maps corrected for libration
* Maps of moon's near and far side
* Maps can be zoomed, panned over and printed out
* Maps are displayed to coincide with your selected optics
(Binuculars, Telescope, etc.)
* Animate libration and/or phases (movie) for selected month
* Identify Lunar features by clicking anywhere on map, from on-map
labels or by selecting a feature from lists of 20 feature types
(craters, mare, sinus, etc.)
* Lunar features currently on the terminator are listed
* Monthly lunar libration diagrams for both Geocentric and Topocentric
viewpoints (i.e corrected for your location)
* Calculates list of Sunrise and Sunset times at all lunar features in
its database
* Displays Selenographic CoLongitude and Position Angle of the moon's
Axis
* Calculates monthly ephemeris of lunar data
* "Crescent Moon Visibility" screen calculates times and dates of
first crescents for your location and for how long they're visible
after sunset.
* Lunar Visiblility diagram shows when the moon is above the horizon
and how bright it is
* Daily View diagram shows when the sun and moon are above the horizon
and hourly Azimuth and Altitude figures
* Calendar of lunar phases for each day in the selected month
* Apogee and Perigee screen shows max. and min. distances and their
dates
* Calculates the circumstances of lunar eclipses and whether they're
visible from your location
* Displays Sun's Rise, Set and Transit times and realtime Alt/Az and
RA/Dec corordinates
* Displays Start and End times for Civil, Nautical and Astronomical
Twilight
* Inbuilt calendar allows lunar data to be calculated for any date and
time
* Print out monthly calendars and other diagrams and maps from the
application

For those who haven't tried it, it is very good software. It does the best
job of any software at helping you plan out your observing sessions.
