China is apparently in negotiations with the EU about 'sharing' a
Lunar Base. Just who would be responsible for what is unknown.

I'm reminded of a segment of Kennedy's Rice University speech;

"...man, in his quest for knowledge and progress, is determined and cannot be deterred. The exploration of space will go ahead, whether we join in it or not, and it is one of the great adventures of all time, and no nation which expects to be the leader of other nations can expect to stay behind in the race for space."

I heard a North Korea interest in a moon base. It seems that uranium enrichment is trivial in low gravity. Pure Brownian motion diffusion. They like the design of an orbital lab, but would need China to send it up. So diplomatic containers to the moon and back make a good cover for them.

Are you serious? Despite so many other issues, the last thing China wants is
a nuclear armed North Korea.

You would certainly think so, but look at the case of Pakistan.

The whole worlds water supply is becoming contaminated by tritium. Water is there on the moon supposedly. In cavities near the moon's south pole. So mining water does have a value.

Low gravity manufacturing might also be of value. Things like vapor deposition would have a gravity effect. Good or bad.

A lunar transmitter or receiver might be usable. Lasers or RF.

Moon silicon would likely have no unique value.

The probability of mineable surfaces should equal the earth mine distribution.

What new element might be there though? You have to look.

You realize that tritium has a half-life of a little over 12.32 years? Even
if it was an issue in a little over 2 decades the problem would go away on
its own.

But somehow I don't think 500lbs of it (over the last 50+ years) spread
across trillions of lbs of water is an issue.
