Musk remains on Advisory Council

Look for space to be mentioned on the 28 Feb 2017 joint session of Congress and for it to point to space based power and making humanity a multi-planet species as critical issues for the Trump administration. |

You can look for it but don't hold your breath because Trump has a lot more things to worry about than that right now. Bull****. Jeff -- All opinions posted by me on Usenet News are mine, and mine alone. These posts do not reflect the opinions of my family, friends, employer, or any organization that I am a member of. Pithy response, yet fundamentally wrong in every detail. The Trump administration has restored the national space council; http://spacenews.com/babin-backs-pen...space-council/ giving the nation a high level strategic direction again. President Trump has met with Musk and Hewson, both companies have discussed human presence on Mars in the near term; http://spacenews.com/elon-musk-meets-with-donald-trump/ http://www.space.com/34234-spacex-ma...e-numbers.html http://www.popsci.com/lockheed-marti...mars-base-camp Trump has called for a joint session of Congress on February 28 this year to discuss important national needs. This is the same tactic used by Eisenhower when he formed NASA, by Kennedy when he announced sending men to the moon and returning them safely to the Earth, by Reagan when he announced the Strategic Defense Initiative. So, there is a likelihood that Trump will announce a long term strategic vision for the future, with short term practical benefit to the nation. This includes; (1) NASA support of commercialisation of chemical rocket technologies that support (a) peaceful ballistic terrestrial transport of packages and people, (b) peaceful transport to orbit and back, (i) orbital hotels, (ii) orbital communications, (iii) orbiting power systems, (iv) orbital sensing, (c) cislunar orperations, (d) inner solar system operations, (2) NASA research to develop (a) outer solar system manned presence by 2030 (b) near interstellar probes by 2030 (c) survey of planetary systems out to 10,000 light years by 2030 (3) Long term development of; (a) commercialisation of outer solar system resources, by 2050 (b) manned presence to nearby stars, by 2050 (c) probes to stars beyond 50 light years, by 2050 (d) commercilisation of nearby stars by 2100, (e) manned presence to stars beyond 50 light years by 2100 |

Worked pretty well in Germany back in the day, too. they will go under the wall by tunneling, over the wall, come in by boats and submarines..... trumps wall is just a big waste of money I'm not convinced it's truly practical, but I think you overestimate how easy it will be to get around. Do you want it to be more difficult for illegals to enter the country or not, Bobbert? -- "Some people get lost in thought because it's such unfamiliar territory." --G. Behn |

It quite simply does not belong here. Please stop posting off topic. Jeff -- All opinions posted by me on Usenet News are mine, and mine alone. Wasting $20 billion (a tiny fraction of the federal budget) on something that's non-space doesn't impact space. Also, canceling a $20 billion non-space project doesn't mean all of that money will all be spent on space instead. In fact, it doesn't even mean that $20 billion would be spent at all!
