ASTRO: Hercules galaxy cluster
Also from last night with the small Newton is this picture of the galaxy
cluster in Hercules (Abell 2151). As to be expected from a galaxy cluster quite a few of fuzzies can be seen. Taken from the middle of Berlin with a 6" f/5 Newton, SXV-H9 camera, G11 mount, 43x3 minutes. The picture can also be found at www.slilge.de/temp/6050hercules43x3gut.jpg Stefan |

I need to redo it with the 14". It was taken when I had lots of flex in my focuser -- Meade's focuser for the LX200R series is too weak for the STL camera's and was quickly replaced. No way to hold the camera in alignment so one corner or edge was always severely out of focus. Though the night I took it was far better than average seeing so may be hard to equal anyway. Still I want to add color to it. Much easier to frame with the 6" however! You caught quite a few more than I was able to. Rick -- Correct domain name is arvig and it is net not com. Prefix is correct. Third character is a zero rather than a capital "Oh". |

Looks like you got some good optics in that scope... detail and fast too...
great FOV. -- Regards, Doug W. www.photonsfate.com "Stefan Lilge" wrote in message ... Also from last night with the small Newton is this picture of the galaxy cluster in Hercules (Abell 2151).
