You do realize that our faith-based government hasn't been telling us
the whole truth and nothing but the truth from the very get go?

I'd be very surprised if any government ever told its people the whole truth.


It seems whenever everything around us is turning into crap, and going
from bad to worse, that there's never anyone responsible for having
caused or having contributed to the problems at hand.

Obviously you want to believe absolutely anything your government and
their agencies have to say, and so it's only their interpretation that
counts. We know how Hitler would approve of this, but how can you
even live with yourself?

Obviously the only odds of any class 4 civilization of advanced life
on Earth isn't going to be human, because it really doesn't do much
good being all that smart and either dead or about to be dead at the
same time.

You can't start a sentence with "obviously" and then have the rest of the sentence not make any sense.

Play your word games all you like, because it doesn't change a damn
thing.

Why, no, I don't believe I said anything of the sort. I said that our own planet did not appear to be in immediate danger from either a rogue planet or a red giant sun, I said nothing about anywhere else.

Are you suggesting that nothing really bad has ever happened to Earth,
such as a very big and nasty nearby star turning into a white dwarf?

Are you suggesting cheese causes cancer? I never mentioned anything like that!




It seems one glancing blow (aka sucker punch) by something of an icy
8e22 kg item that would create something like our Arctic ocean basin
and more than a few antipodes, as well as further tilt our planet by a
few degrees, would likely qualify as a *valid probability.

And would we see that coming?
Not if Earth were fully clouded over, or if everyone was already
hunkered down by hiding in caves because of the near total ice-age
this planet was in.

Then we couldn't use an escape plan even if we had one could we.



And if we did, do you think we would be better off trying to eliminate that threat, or running off to another planet also facing at least as much danger as ours?
The best DoD and other secret tunnels around the worls (plus most
every known cave) couldn't possibly protect more than 0.1% of us.
We'd be better off standing on the moon getting roasted and radiated
to death while our moonsuits ran out of O2.

I was thinking more of pushing the threat away with rockets or something similar.
