Default OBAMA **** CANS NASA'S RETURN-TO-THE-MOON EFFORT! - Now 40 moreyears of going round and round and round!

NASA to get more money, but must scratch moon plan
1/28/2010, 1:44 p.m. PST
The Associated Press

(AP) — WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama is essentially grounding
plans to return astronauts to the moon and instead is sending NASA in
new directions with roughly $6 billion more.

A White House official confirmed Thursday that when next week's budget
is proposed, NASA will get an additional $5.9 billion over five years,
as first reported in Florida newspapers. Some of that money will be
used to extend the life of the International Space Station to 2020.
The official said it also will be used to entice companies to build
private spacecraft to ferry astronauts to the space station after the
space shuttle retires.

An aide to an elected official who was told of the plans said Obama is
basically ending the return-to-the-moon effort pushed by President
George W. Bush. So far, that effort has cost $9.1 billion.

In reality, it has likely cost us twice that amount, and we're not
even 5% there. Even the LRO mission is bogus in ways that makes their
past seem perfectly as it needs to look.

The whole truth and nothing but the truth is in the nearest spendy
space toilet that doesn't work half the time.

Return To Pacoima! A rocket-powered bullet train will connect
Washington, DC to Pacoima, CA. It will require 18 years and $3.7
trillion to lay track. The first trial run will average Mach 2.1,
after which the demonstration track will be recycled into inertial
confinement controlled laser nuclear fusion chambers. Many jobs will
be created.

Oil should be entirely out by then so going around Planet
Earth should be Officer Bert's prediction legacy come true. Now if
Star Ships come out of this present funding diversion it could be a
good thing. Boeing should be happy to help and Moon or Planet craft
could spur further Earth Space Ship body development.

As per usual, the whole truth and nothing but the truth remains in the
nearest spendy space toilet, that doesn't work half the time. Humans
are simply not properly engineered for zero gravity. Most aquatic
life is simply far superior at surviving zero gravity, and then
somehow evolution lost all of that terrific genetic physiology and its
survival expertise when water suddenly became a toxic environment to
us humans.

Hi Capt. nightbat,

This was a sad day in the annals of Earth history! The story was low
keyed, but it should had been splashed across the front pages of
newspapers in large block letters along side such historical bad news
headlines as "Japs Bomb Pearl Harbor!" and "Bataan Falls!" This will
result no likely advance in manned space technology during my
lifetime. Landing a man a Mars will remain a dream because no
technology will be developed that would enable such a trip. Private
industry is expected to develop spacecraft for shuttling astronauts to
and from the ISS? For what? Perhaps the space program will become
more tourist based and less science based, and the ISS will become a
vacation resort for billionaires! Nothing much useful for deep space
exploration will be developed within the safety of low Earth orbit.
Radiation shielding will not have to be dealt with.

And to think, it's apparently all President BHO's fault for being
born. At least that's what the ZNRs and their redneck trailer-trash
minions want us to believe.
