The point of the post to which you responded was that NASA did *not* pay for the development of the pen. It was a strictly commercial product, with no government funding involved. NASA paid a few bucks per pen to buy them, just like any other customer. As it happens, the Soviet space agency was also a customer. |

The best news is it can go through the washer and dryer without
