Augment Manned Missions with Unmanned Test Flights?
Dude, your questions are so open ended that the only possible answers are "yes" and "all of the above". "ed kyle" wrote in message om... According to CAIB, the shuttle launch system should still be considered a test vehicle series since the number of total flights is so low. Would there be a way to augment shuttle, or any future crew-launch system, with a smaller, less expensive, unmanned test vehicle that could fly more often than the manned vehicle to build flight experience? If such a vehicle were possible, should it be orbital, or could a suborbital version suffice? - Ed Kyle |
