Does anyone know the cause of that horisontal banding in the latest Cassini
pictures?

It just looks like the typical bias, dark current noise, and interference noise
that are pretty typical for all CCD cameras. The pictures were posted as soon as
they came in, with no calibration. They were probably stretched to the limits to
bring out ring detail, which also stretches all the noise sources.

Camera characteristics. They will be removed using camera calibration
characteristics when the images are processed - the first images were
provided raw.

The commentary on NASA-TV reported that the banding is interference from a
2 Hz signal near the camera. They filter it out in processing later.
