Sick of the stupid media
The other day, the media bleated out that a solar system
had been found like "our own." Turns out of course that the solar system was just another in a growing list they suspect of having a larger than Jupiter planet orbiting a star. Since we can't detect solar systems with Earth sized planets yet and have no idea that one exists, where does the media get the initial misinformation about these formations? Do they simply make it up? -Rich |

Do they simply make it up? Nope, the news was similarly given in press releases. It is easier to say you discovered a Solar System twin than a system that is unlike our own but currently closest to in "resemblance". Karol |

Sick of the stupid media
Today's run-of-the-mill-talking-media-heads know no more about REAL
Astronomy than the peasants did in Galileo's time, and that is a sad fact... Orion wrote in message ... The other day, the media bleated out that a solar system had been found like "our own." Orion Having dealt with newsrooms for some 35 years, I can tell you that you are giving them far too much credit.
