Apologies for posting an on topic link
Apparently it's no joke and could impact the increase in planned crew
size:- http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24841375/ |

Well the writer avoided the well known joke about this sort of thing,
which being a childish person, I was disappointed by. Headline could have read: Space toilet malfunction still a mystery, Astronauts have little to go on. Bean serious though, it seems that this is one device which has always had problems, by which I mean a really simple bit of hardware to allow human waste to be got rid of safely seems to have been always being developed. Brian -- Brian Gaff....Note, this account does not accept Bcc: email. graphics are great, but the blind can't hear them Email: __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________ "Bash" wrote in message ... Brian I thought about it but it would have been a crap joke ;-) That and the problem seems to be with urine collection, not the aforementioned. Evidently NASA have sourced a spare part from Russia, a rush job to launch on Discovery next week hopefully. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24859800/ Maybe the regulars can help but the report mentions offloading some wrenches, a spare part for the space station’s oxygen generator, and a microbe-killing device for use in the European space lab. Asides from cabin space are weight margins tight on this mission? Bry |
