Default Apollo 13 ?

In popular televised accounts the A13 3 astronauts had a problem
with cold, due to power conservation, but they aren't shown wearing
their space suits to keep warmer. Did they, if not why not?

The suits required power to maintain thermal conditions. Without
power, they'd get cold and damp quickly, making things worse.

They were also fully sunlit, as well as receiving planetshine and
moonshine IR. Perhaps they should have been sweating like pigs.

I posed this question to Freddo Haise a while back. He told me that they didn't don the suits because they would have perspired heavily in the arm pits and crotch which would have frozen there.

I seem to remember an ancient discussion of this when Henry
Spencer said that Jim Lovell and Fred Haise wore their lunar boots,
for which apparently the fear of accumulated sweat wasn't too bad.
Would anyone be able to verify whether Henry was correct after all?

Another issue is that the LM was only sized for two people in suits, so
fitting a third person in a suit may have been uncomfortably tight,
especially since they didn't want to take any chance with somebody accidently
kicking through the "hull" or breaking something else equally important.

Fully sunlit plus loads of moon secondary IR and even constant Earth
IR planetshine is hardly going to represent a cold cabin environment.

Body heat of 450 watts plus full sunlight always on half of the craft
in addition to the secondary influx of moon IR as well as the
unavoidable planetshine IR, is simply not going to provide any
freezing cold cabin environment unless their HVAC system was blasting
away with cold air.

the side of the vehicle in darness radiates the body heat fast. the
LMs walls were paper thin and not well insulated due to weight
constraints
