Default Challenger what if

Watching the show seconds from disaster it was about challenger and
the fact the thikol engineer expected the vehicle to detonate on the
pad.

If it had it would of certinally destoyed the vehicle and pad and
probably scared that forward fire crew a lot.

Historically I wonder if they would of replaced the pad?
