Film. Its full Moon and the second remnants of a hurricane in a weeks time
is passing over as I type. My sump pump is working overtime as my basement
is seeping water from my flooded yard. There is nothing to do except have a
few beers and look at old images. This one dates back to the fall of 2004.
It is a 40 minute shot through a FS102 @/8 on E200. I hope to duplicate
this object this year with my XTi and the same FS102.

Anybody need water?

Joe

Nice picture Joe, still I bet you'll do better with the new camera.

Thanks Stefan, One thing that suprised me was all the HII regions it has.
Most images have them washed out and this shot made tham pop out.

Yes, send water we need a lot of it. My soil is sandy so no worry about
a wet basement here. Besides, I don't have one. We've gotten a
couple days of mist but so far not even 1/10" inch and we are some 14"
below normal.

Nice image. E200 had excellent H alpha response. It was excellent for
HII regions so your result doesn't surprise me. Today's DSLR's, of
course, have horrid response to H alpha unless modified. Many of
today's CCDs are skewed toward the blue as well and fall off badly for H
alpha but have fairly good red response for red stars. So if you push
red to bring up the HII regions the stars turn too red. It's a real
problem with my STL-11K. The ST-7 picks out HII about as well as E200
did when I was using it for imaging as it is an old one with strong red
response rather than blue of today's version.
