Default Apollo 1 Service Module

The Command Module is in storage at Langley. According to a NASA
document
from 1978, Service Module-012 was redesignated as 3RC-1 for testing
in
support of the Apollo Applications program (later Skylab) then
scrapped at
Rockwell in Downey Calif. in May 1977 (if I interpret a typo in the
document
correctly).

....What became of Apollo 1's SM after the fire? Was it used in an

I believe it would have been stripped to find the cause of the accident,
then put into perm. storage.
