I dunno, but The Astronomy Connection (TAC) mailing list which I believe was hosted on some seds server (seds.org) vanished as soon as Huygens landed. In fact, that was the last message received by the TAC mailing list. I heard hardware failure, but I haven't been able to confirm this. TAC is a mailing list for observers in California. You post your observing intents (where, when, etc) to the mailing list/website and other observers can join you, or you can join them. Uncle Bob (TAC list member). |

Would TAC move to another server? JS |

UB From: Uncle Bob UB Subject: What happened to SEDS? UB UB I dunno, but The Astronomy Connection (TAC) mailing list which I believe UB was hosted on some seds server (seds.org) vanished as soon as Huygens UB landed. In fact, that was the last message received by the TAC mailing UB list. I heard hardware failure, but I haven't been able to confirm this. UB TAC is a mailing list for observers in California. You post your UB observing intents (where, when, etc) to the mailing list/website and UB other observers can join you, or you can join them. There are a few such maillists around the country. Thr large one for the new York City area is a Yahoogroup forum, NYSkies. It was orignally established with a vore membership from Amateur Astronomers Association but is operated entirely independently from it. That's why you'll see some chat about AAA business among its messages. It's main purpose is a place for astronomers form anywhere (we have a bunch of out of state members) to discuss items of interest to us in and around the City. Because our membership is generally more socially and civicly active, there are messages on topics peculiar to New York City, including a few from me. Like TAC, NYSkies is not a 'club' as such. However, it does cooperate with regular orgs to promote home astronomy in the City. For instance, it exhibits at the Earth Day far, this year at Grand Central Terminal on April 23-24. It also exhibits at NEAF on April 16-17. I do remind that its motif is glatt urban New York, but you're welcome to check it out. Look for 'nysky' in the Yahoogroups website. --- þ RoseReader 2.52á P005004 ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 100,000 Newsgroups ---= East/West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =--- |
