What a wonderful example of American free enterprise! NASA launch vehicles are not generally built by NASA, but by private companies with the expertise to do so. The British have been out to lunch for the most part WRT space flight activities, having finally launched their first satellite on their own launch vehicle in 1971, two years after Apollo 11 and fourteen years after Sputnik. Can you say Beagle 2 ? |
