So, why not just use asteroid for space craft by attaching a few rocket engine to it, drill a few caves inside for habitat for humans. Body of asteroid can give shielding against cosmic radiation and some gravity too? |

The highly elongated shape of the object has been inferred from its brightness changes on the assumption that it has more or less uniform albedo. But if it had one side with shiny panels then it might much less elongated and just catching the sunlight from our point of view. -- Regards, Martin Brown |
