Default StarDust Observing Chair

Greetings:

Thinking of purchasing an observing chair. Has anyone had experience
with a stardust observing chair used with an 12" LX200/Superwedge
combo. Is this useable? I'm curious about both the height and
whether the chair is useable close to the tripod, etc. The URL is
below....

Hi Mark,

Not at the height with the GFT (Giant Field Tripod) that's standard with the
12" LX200.
I highly recommend shortening the tripod with the 'Tripod Shrink Kit' sold
by Peterson Engineering at:

http://www.petersonengineering.com/S...d_shrinkit.htm

and also available from Jim Henson at www.scopestuff.com

It places the 12" at a MUCH friendlier altitude for visual use. Once the
tripod is shortened, the adjustments available with the chair will get your
eye to the proper location.
