Default Venus & Jupiter conjunction 4th/5th Nov 04

4th November:

Conditions were not very good this morning with a big ring
around the Moon and lots of thick cloud. A few gaps did meander their
way into the appropriate postion through. Hazy cloud tends to make
bright objects like Venus and to a lesser extent Jupiter, appear much
bigger than they should because you're also taking a picture of the
illuminated haze around the object.

5th November

Weather was worse this morning than it was yesterday. Thank goodness
mycamera/telescope arrangement can see through clouds ;-)

That's if Selsey had clouds of course

Good attempts but there is trailing present. You didn't have it guided it
appears. I like the first
one best.

Trailing? You've got better eyes than me - where do you mean.

You didn't have it guided it appears.

It was tracking but unguided on a rough polar alignment. The only
shot that would be seriously affected by alignment problems would have
been the second to last one (60s). At the scale of reproduction it's
impossible to see anything properly.

Weather conditions were pretty awful to be honest.
