Why are planet rings in the plane of rotation?
What exactly are the mechanics that cause floating debris around a
planet to congregate along the plane of rotation of the planet? ie- Why can there be moons around Jupiter that have highly irregular orbits, but the rings are in a nice plane right at (or very near) the equator? |
