Japanese Lunar Orbiter--Lunar Shots
The other night the NGC featured a program on the moon. Part of it showed HD
images from the Japanese orbiter. One was flying over Tycho or Copernicus. Very impressive detail. I've tried to find something like that on the web, but keep getting the earth rise images the orbiter had made. Jasa seems to be the org responsible for the images, but it seems down a lot. Any ideas? -- W. eWatson (121.015 Deg. W, 39.262 Deg. N) GMT-8 hr std. time) Obz Site: 39° 15' 7" N, 121° 2' 32" W, 2700 feet Web Page: www.speckledwithstars.net/ |

Any ideas? The HDTV video (and it is a video camera) content is owned by NHK, the Japanese broadcaster that supplied the camera. They only supply the full HD video to schools and other educational establishments. I recall that JAXA was talking with NASA about distribution rights in the US... |

NHK--is that the same crowd of public servants who funded the renovation of the Sistine Chapel in return for exclusive rights to images of Michelangelo's frescos? Glad I got there with my camera before they got there with their camera! Davoud -- The American auto industry? Sell it as scrap metal.
