Default OM has lost his lower leg

Unfortunately, the infection in OM's leg and foot reemerged,
necessitating the amputation of the leg below the knee this morning.
This is really tragic news.

Pat

Yikes.

We've hardly talked, so it might not mean as much, but send my regards.

On Sun, 06 Apr 2008 14:24:39 -0500, in a place far, far away, Pat
Flannery made the phosphor on my monitor glow in
such a way as to indicate that:

Unfortunately, the infection in OM's leg and foot reemerged,
necessitating the amputation of the leg below the knee this morning.
This is really tragic news.

That well and truly sucks.

At least these days, they've made a lot of progress with prosthetics.
At least one vet amputee has gone back into battle in Iraq
(voluntarily, of course), so Bob may be able to regain a lot of
function as well.

Holy Crap!
This is suckage of Shapespearian Proportions.
OM, if you're reading this, try to stay out of the hospital.
They're obviously bad for you.
(Not entirely a joke - since Hospitals are where the sick folks hang out,
that's where the Bad Stuff lives.)

Send him my best please, Pat. That's sad news and I wish him the best of
luck.

It's certainly the most likely place to catch a multi-drug resistant
bacterium strain.
