Nice. If you ever get out that way, an excellent stop is the National
Atomic Museum. Very key to space history. Someday a museum will
integrate artifacts of the Arms Race with those of the Space Race.
Oh, and up the road from Kirtland is Los Alamos. Lots up there too.

As for directed energy schemes, I am amazed by those proposals to have
orbiting solar plants that beam energy back to earth for generating
electricity. Those platforms are not too far removed from the
DeathStar!
