Thoughtful Article on the Eclipse and American History
The Atlantic Monthly ran this interesting and thoughtful article on how the path
of the eclipse is connected with the history of black people in America, despite not passing by areas where many of them live: https://www.theatlantic.com/science/...e-race/537318/ I found this to be an illuminating and insightful article. Still, Pamela Geller thought it was worth taking some cheap shots at it: http://pamelageller.com/2017/08/atla...e-racist.html/ John Savard |

That article is ridiculous. But, if the wacky writer waits till 2024, a new eclipse will go through much more "ethnically diversified" areas. |

It was interesting how the American people huddled together for safety from the predatory Sky Gods during the eclipse. You'd have thought they'd have stayed indoors in case the sky fell. ;-) |

While I would laud the fact that the author sought to draw attention to the problems we (the US) have - especially with respect to racial divisions and tensions. I think the author's analysis shows them to be very naive. -- Email address is a Spam trap. |
