variable inclination modification
The original assertion by Copernicus requires a necessary modification
as the latitudinal variations in daylight/darkness and temperature fluctuations require an additional orbital component whereas the principles which Copernicus himself worked off was an 'no tilt/no seasons' ideology - "To this circle, which goes through the middle of the signs, and to its plane, the equator and the earth's axis must be understood to have a variable inclination. For if they stayed at a constant angle, and were affected exclusively by the motion of the centre, no inequality of days and nights would be observed. On the contrary,it day or the of equal daylight and darkness, or summer or winter, or whatever the character of the season, it would remain identical and unchanged." Copernicus All rotational inclination is fixed throughout an orbital circuit hence the dynamic behind variations in latitudinal declination are due to a quasi-rotation arising strictly for the orbital behavior of the Earth where the daily rotational inputs turn in a circle/cycle to the central Sun.A simple imitation analogy is enough to extract the information needed to assign a largely equatorial climate to the Earth as opposed to an almost total polar climate for Uranus. For all the hysterics about global climate,I have yet to see an astronomer who is fit to work through the details of either daily and orbital temperature fluctuations - not a single one among the many that arrive in sci.astro.amateur calling themselves astronomers, professional or otherwise. No screaming or capitalization of letters - just a simple announcement that the Earth has an equatorial climate, that natural noon cycles vary for the same reasons temperature fluctuate with latitude based on the ability to separate daily and orbital motions and assign two axes of motion for the respective motions. Unlike the mechanism for plate tectonics and the planet's spherical deviation which will remain speculative, the new explanation for the seasons is a 100% observational certainty. It just needs astronomers who know how important it is for climate and many, many other topics. |
