I don't get it. Why are you selling your book collection? Aren't they
valuable to you?

I am thinking your bookie is getting ready to send Otto and Rex over to
break your knee-caps if you don't pay your gambling debts fast.

Yes. But... somewhat less valuable when you have multiple copies,
however. This is what happens when you go nuts on buying sprees, and
have a poor memory of what you already have.

Also, many times to buy the one book I want, I have to buy a lot of
books I don't.

This is how he explains that massive collection of Victorian erotica to
his house guests.... ;-)

On Mon, 22 Mar 2004 23:08:22 -0600, in a place far, far away, Pat
Flannery made the phosphor on my monitor glow in
such a way as to indicate that:

Pat (proud owner of a copy of "The Worship Of Priapus".)

I have to confess to agnosticism, if not outright atheism.

At least when it comes to yours.

If it weren't for mirrors, I might have lost sight of it entirely a
decade or so ago. Still, I have an abiding faith that it, like deity,
may yet exist- although mayhaps in a somewhat diminished state (which is
a pretty good description of North Dakota come to think of it, so
apparently it's where it should be). :-P

Yup, been there, done that. Also when you upgrade (paperback to hardback,
ex-libris to remainder, underlined&highlighted to near mint, sticky to
non-sticky...)

Depends on the subject...
Cook books and repair manuals often get greasy, combine with a bit of house
dust and now you have the book that won't let you put it down.

To quote from an old Alexis Gilliland cartoon: "Never let a bibliosexual
