A cool 60F as of 1:45 PM PDT here in Gresham. Calm but with morning rain..

A cougar has been spotted 6 times here in Gresham in the last few days! Three pet cats have been found dead! Cougars live up in the mountains around here. I saw one a couple of times when I was a boy, but for some reason I was not afraid. They are a big animal!

The primary election comes to Oregon next month. For a rare occasion, Oregon's vote might be of interest.

Will it be able to troll?

Only 51F here in Gresham as of 1:30 PM PDT. Light showers over night and this morning. At least I remembered my umbrella today.

Much too chilly for the beach here! Mt. Hood got a couple more inches of snow.

59F here in Gresham as of 4:30 PM PDT. Wind 9 mph from the northwest. Humidity 38%. Some clouds and a little early rain, but mostly sunny today.

Went across town again to my locker. Just about have it all cleaned up. But lots of boxes left to move.

Down the street from me is the Mt. Hood Community College Campus (MHCC). Almost 50 years ago I, along with some other student workers, cleared every stone lying on the field were the Aquatic Center is now. This is were they today have championship swimming competitions. Long ago, I cleared that field so those swimmers can swim today! It was such a hard labor that I could barely walk the next day! But do they remember me?

Sunny with a few gathering clouds and calm here in Gresham. Currently 55F as of 12:30 PM PDT.

Over at the MHCC campus near where I'm living now, there is a domed basketball court on the south side of the campus. I watched them build it back in the summer of 1968 when I had a student night watchman job. Those roofers would show up at the crack of dawn! Out front there is now a rock with a commemorative plaque memorializing Dr. Earl L. Klapstein, who was the community college's first president. The adjacent stadium there has also been named after him. One time, in a social setting, he made some insensitive remark about my hair style. Then he asked if I liked his sideburns? He had big mutton chop sideburns. What could I say? One of my responsibilities at the time was to check all the doors around campus to see if they were locked. Therefore I new that the presidents office trailer had not been locked. (Everything there was still in trailers at that time.) A friend of mine came by with a case of beer. We were both only 19 at the time, so that was a big deal! We went to check out president Klapstein's office trailer! He even had a shower in there! We sat in his office, at his desk, and drank our brews! We fantasized that we were sitting there shooting the **** with the college president! Oh, those good old days of college fun! We thought they would never end!

I wonder what it felt like to have even flunked out of the special ed school?

***No one really flunked out. Everyone received an award. Actually, Hagar
received two as evidenced by the plaques hanging on his trailer's bedroom
wall. One of them reads, "MOST YEARS SPENT IN SIXTH GRADE." The other
honors "GREATEST NUMBER OF MILES RIDDEN ON A SHORT BUS."

Whatever happened to social promotion?

Mostly cloudy here in Gresham today, but still dry as of 12:30 PM PDT. Lunch with Kim yesterday. She's sill talking about trying to get a job at that Korean restaurant. She speaks their language!

Light drizzle coming down here in Gresham. Temp 52F as of 12:15 PM PDT. Calm.

Got my ballot for the election a couple days ago. All mail in here. They used to give you a completely sealable security envelope to go inside the return envelope. Now they only give an optional "security" open folder! Makes it all the easier for the election officials to not only see how you are voting (no security at all), but easily round file those ballots that are voted the "wrong way" for candidates, or against tax raising money measures that might threaten their jobs! Democracy has rotted!

AA go to the voting site.I never write in. Big bad news is Sandy hit truck in front on free way.No one was hurt. It was stop and go,but her car will never pass inspection.Front end about 5,000 bucks to fix. I will not drive on free way anymore its a killer. Cool sunny here for past week. Still waiting on my hearing that is now getting on my nerves. TreBert
