The Edge of the Universe
I wonder what is at the edge of the universe if there is ever an edge.
Is it solid or empty space beyond it. Or when you reach the edge of the universe, does it connect to the other edge of the universe, much like circling the globe can make you reach the same destination to the shock and disbelief of those who believed that the earth was flat. What are the current theories about the edge of the universe? If you look at the night sky. It can give you such an immense distance perspective and make you think you are so isolated in the vastness of the universe. But is it merely an illusion? The non-local quantum effect may be explained by a universe based on higher dimension where space/time have other structures and the physical distance may just be an illusion. Astronomy is such mind boggling, mind expanding field, isn't it. opti |

Is it solid or empty space beyond it. Hi: Consider the surface of the Earth. Where's the "edge?" Same deal. ;-) Peace, Rod Mollise Author of _Choosing and Using a Schmidt Cassegrain Telescope_ Like SCTs and MCTs? Check-out sct-user, the mailing list for CAT fanciers! Hi: Then take it one step further and consider the surface of Earth as a sphere in 2 dimensional space. Like in _Flatland_. Flatlanders can't get off. :-) Peace, Rod Mollise Author of _Choosing and Using a Schmidt Cassegrain Telescope_ Like SCTs and MCTs? Check-out sct-user, the mailing list for CAT fanciers!
