Astronomy Class in the Sierra (SFSU)
Some of you might be interested in this week-long college level
astronomy course. . . Our observing site is at 7200' and far away from any cities--quite dark! We provide our own (big) scopes and equipment. Of course, you can bring your own, too. Every summer I look forward to this class: sharing my views and understanding of the universe with interested students. Spending a week with legendary deep-sky observer (and nice guy) Steve Gottlieb is also rewarding! If you are an experienced observer, you can work on your own goals / observing projects. I put a lil webpage together last week to help advertise this class. . . Hey, tuition is less than a decent eyepiece, out of state folks can fly into Reno (1.5 hours away) and somebody will pick you up (or you can rent a car). For more info and links to an s.a.a. review: http://members.aol.com/anonglxy/deepsky.htm Feel free to e-me with any questions (but first look at the webpage). Ray Cash San Francisco |

Astronomy Class in the Sierra (SFSU)
Hi Phil,
That's a tripod I made (for something else) and an alt-az Dob-like mount I made for a Tak I had at the time. . . I haven't hung onto anything in that photo, 'cept the wife.
