OK than answer this if photons going through water slow down how do they get back to c when entering the vacuum of space? At MIT they claim to slowed photons going through close to absolute zero lithium to 5 mph.So how do they get back to c? The same way sound traveling through air can speed up depending on the pressure and temperature of the air. The speed is dependent on the medium.

Don't you believe in the aetherial medium of space? It has to do with the wave nature of the photon. Changing mediums can speed up water waves, speed up sound waves, etc. You need a more general explanation has to how waves entering a different density medium get speeded up.

My question is this.Photos going at half c entering vacuum of space instantly reach c.WOW How come? Does space suck it in,ad give it a push that has this great energy.Now if photons never change their speed of c you would not end up in a dark tunnel.Keep in mind photons take 200,000 years to go from Sun's core to get to its surface.They never slowed down to go such a short distance.Good reasoning gives the correct answer. 40m.p.h/60k.p.h and you apply the brake for a bit and slow down a bit,
then, when you lift your foot off the brake pedal, your car (naturally)
speeds up a bit. ... without you having to press the accelerator??

Same, Same, for Photons, etc. They are travelling, freely, through
space, then they encounter something, a planet/a star/an
asteroid/whatever, and the photon slows down whilst it traverses the
object, then, when it passes through the object, it is free to resume
its former speed!

applied) relates well with the other case (a photon travelling through
