Baader film solar filter for finder - an example
I threw together a Baader solar filter for a 50mm finder this
weekend. It uses a rifle lens cap for a "cleaner" look. Here are the construction pics - http://gallery.utahastronomy.com/v/k...inder+sco pe/ - Canopus56 |

I just took the objective lens cap of my 50 mm finder, cut a circular hole in the center, taped some Baader film on the inside, and have the same end result. Did this quite a few years ago, and have to replace the film only very very rarely. But you have a nice page about it, and I hope others follow suit. It's a great idea to have your finder protected and still useful for solar observing. -- AM |
